Durham Kids Safety Village
Since 1995, the Kids' Safety Village of Durham Region has been providing safety instruction to primary school students. Administered by the Durham Region Police Service, the 0.5 hectare Village consists of miniature scale buildings in an urban setting complete with roads, sidewalks, and working traffic lights. Within this unique learning environment, we partner with regional fire, EMS, electrical and transportation safety experts to build the awareness and life skills students need to function safely in their everyday lives. https://durhamsafetyvillage.com
Sloane’s House
Sloane’s House Respite & Hospice Care Centre is where families of children, up to twenty one (21) years, with complex health needs will come to join our family of caring professionals; a supportive community of parents and caregivers. Located in Whitby, it will be a home away from home for medically fragile children from Durham Region and the surrounding underserved communities and will offer respite, palliative and end-of-life care. https://www.sloaneshouse.org
